The Department of Mathematics conducts research and education at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels within mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The department has about 140 employees. The number of annual students at the undergraduate and graduate level is about 770. Duties
We are advertising an opening for one postdoctoral position in strings, quantum fields, and geometry at the Department of Mathematics at Uppsala University. The selected researcher will work on topics related to the ERC grant “The Memory of Solitons” under the supervision of Dr. Michele Del Zotto, at the interface of the group of geometry and physics at the Department of Mathematics and the group of theoretical physics of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The duties include collaboration with the various members of the group and the production of research results.

Requirements
PhD degree in mathematics or in Theoretical Physics or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in mathematics or in Theoretical Physics. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment. The starting point of the three-year frame period is the application deadline. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

About the employment
