The Department of Organismal Biology teaches and explores the evolution, development and function on the organismal level. For more information see www.iob.uu.se.
The position will be held at the Programme for Evolution and Development, where we carry out palaeontological research on the evolution and palaeobiology of vertebrates as well as developmental biology studies of zebrafish.

Duties
The researcher will work on describing 359 million year old fossil material from Greenland, consisting of coprolites (fossil droppings) and skeletal remains of early land vertebrates. The work will consist principally of reconstructing structures (for example bones and coprolite contents) from tomographic data sets and to describe the reconstructed structures.
Requirements
PhD in palaeontology or similar, with focus on Palaeozoic vertebrates. Extensive hands-on experience of working with tomographi data sets. Fluent in English.
Additional qualifications
Experience of using the segmentation software Mimics.
About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, 5 months. Scope of employment 100 %. Starting date as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
