The Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University is one of the biggest and diverse departments in its field in Sweden, with approximate 200 employees. Our research ranges from the Earth’s core to the atmosphere, on scales from submicroscopic structures in minerals to the formation of mountains and oceans, from the time before the existence of Earth until today. We outline the historical development of Earth and life on it over billions of years, and investigate exchanges between the atmosphere and ocean in relation to climate change and sustainable development. For more information, please visit The Department of Earth Sciences.
