The Department of Education (EDU) conducts research, postgraduate education, undergraduate education and commissioned education in the field of education. At EDU, there are also several master programs. EDU has just over 300 employees, of which around 200 are teachers/researchers, 70 doctoral students, and 30 administrators. Task assignments
The tasks take place within the framework of the research project Implementation Research as a new area in mathematics didactics. Funds for these tasks in the project are available until 2024-06-30. More specifically, the tasks concern participation in studies of two development projects where mathematics education research results have been implemented. The main material consists largely of reports, in-service training material for teachers, and interviews. Other tasks are participation in article writing and conference presentations. A trip abroad to collect material is relevant, e.g. to the USA. Qualification requirements
Doctoral degree in mathematics education or equivalent. Knowledge of implementation research in the field of mathematics education is desirable. International publications with clear relevance in mathematical education are meritorious. Knowledge and experience of methods for investigating how different factors affect learning and teaching in mathematics. Applicants are mainly those who have completed a doctoral degree no more than five years before the end of the application period.

Desirable / meritorious in other respects
Accustomed to working in international environments and communicating in English and Swedish in speech and writing.

  • Letters of recommendation and/or contact details of at least three reference persons

The applicant must have the personal qualities required to perform the job well. Such personal qualities here are flexibility, leadership qualities, good ability to work together, and taking responsibility.

About the employment
Individual wage setting is applied. The employment is for the time being and rests on external funds until 2024-06-30. The scope is full time. Access 2023-01-01 or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
