Temporary position as Senior Lecturer in Aesthetics - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Duties
The position involves teaching at introductory and advanced level. The teaching, at most five courses during the academic year 2022-2023, will be in different areas of philosophical aesthetics. The courses the successful candidate would be most likely to teach are on philosophy of art, aesthetic value theory, and classical philosophical texts in aesthetics. A smaller portion of teaching may be in practical philosophy or theoretical philosophy.

Requirements
To be qualified for appointment applicants must hold a PhD in iaesthetics or philosophy or have achieved equivalent scientific competence. The successful candidate must also have pedagogical training, or in some other way have acquired equivalent competence, and they must have the scientific competence, pedagogical ability and professional competence needed to carry out the tasks associated with the position. Experience of teaching analytic aesthetics is a requirement. The ability to teach in Swedish or English is a requirement.

Assessment criteria/ranking
When selecting among eligible applicants, equal weight will be given to research expertise and teaching expertise. 

In assessing research expertise, quality will be the prime consideration. 

Teaching expertise comprises educational and teaching qualifications and the most important factor is pedagogical skill. The scope of teaching experience, in terms of both breadth and depth, will also be given consideration. The pedagogical merits should be documented in such a way that both quality and scope can be assessed.

• List of publications
• Account of pedagogical merits
• 1-2 writing samples
• Certification of qualifications, e.g. copies of transcripts, degree certificates
• Names and contact details of up to two referees

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, approximately 11 months. Scope of employment 100%. Starting date August 1 2022 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
