Uppsala University, National Centre for Knowledge of Men's Violence Against Women

The National Center for Knowledge on Men’s Violence against Women (NCK) at Uppsala University and the University Hospital, has the government's task of raising knowledge at the national level about men's violence against women, honor-related violence and oppression as well as violence in same-sex relationships and providing support to abused women. NCK's government assignment includes conducting research related to clinical activities in the area of men's violence against women. We are now looking for a researcher who can work part-time on a project in the field of gender-related violence and health.

Duties
The area of gender-based violence and health is interdisciplinary and can be illuminated with medical as well as humanities and social science approaches. The position is for research and work with a project plan, which is to result in one or several application(s) for external funding for a research project, to be submitted to relevant funding bodies, primarily in 2023 and/or 2024. The project is to be placed at NCK, it must be, directly or indirectly, of relevance for clinical practice; besides the applicant, the planned project can also involve researchers from different disciplines, across domains. The person who accepts the position will be expected to be an active part of NCK and contribute to the development of NCK’s research milieu. The position may also entail some research-administrative tasks, and/or teaching.

Requirements
To be qualified for the position, the applicant must have a PhD degree. We are looking for a researcher who regardless of disciplinary background have a research interest record in the field of gender-related violence, and who have the formal qualifications and the personal qualities needed to perform well in the position. The work requires good ability for independent work as well as demonstrated ability to collaborate and interact both within the academic community and the society at large. The planned research project, its quality and relevance for the activities at NCK, will be given particular weight in the assessment of applicants.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, 12 months. Scope of employment 50 %. Starting date September 2022 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
