Uppsala University, Department of Information Technology

The postdoctoral researcher will be based at the Uppsala Social Robotics Lab, Department of Information Technology, Uppsala University.

The Department of Information Technology has approximately 300 employees and conducts research and education in a spectrum of areas within Computer Science and Information Technology. The research is organized in five Divisions, and the research at the Division of Visual Information and Interaction is a unique combination of expertise in computerized image analysis and human-computer interaction. More information about the department and its activities can be found at http://www.it.uu.se.

The Uppsala Social Robotics Lab aims to design and develop robots that learn to interact socially with humans and bring benefits to the society we live in, for example in application areas such as education and assistive technology.

The Lab’s focus is on natural interaction with social artefacts such as robots and embodied virtual agents. This domain concerns bringing together multidisciplinary expertise to address new challenges in the area of social robotics. State of the art robots are used, including the Pepper, Nao and Furhat robotic platforms.

The postdoctoral project will be supervised by Ginevra Castellano and Katie Winkle.
