Uppsala University, Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory

The Department of Chemistry - Ångström conducts research and education in the chemistry field. The department has more than 250 employees and has a turnover of 250 million SEK. Duties
The work will involve development, validation and application of ATR-FTIR spectroscopy techniques on hydrogenases and related material. The work will also involve training of new users on the developed instrumentation.

Requirements

  • A PhD in physics, biophysics or equivalent is required.
  • The successful applicant is also expected to have extensive experience in FTIR spectroscopy and instrumentation, as well as in interpreting and analysing protein FTIR data.   

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to i.e. good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the administrative work within the unit/department, as well as contribute to its future development.

Additional qualifications
Previous experience in handling oxygen sensitive proteins, and in particular hydrogenases, is highly meriting.

The employment is temporary position, two months. Scope of employment 100%. Starting date as soon as possible, or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
