Project description: The project is focused on the degradation and persistence of organic matter, in particular in peatlands, but also in other aquatic environments. The duties will include experiments to identify biotic and abiotic factors that regulate microbial utilization of natural organic matter, with a focus on extracellular enzymes. The position also includes supervising students.

Qualifications required: A doctoral degree, or a foreign degree equivalent to a doctoral degree, in a relevant field, and postdoctoral experience on the biogeochemistry of organic matter. Experience from both field and laboratory work, and the analysis of the activity of extracellular enzymes involved in the degradation of natural organic matter is required, as well as demonstrated skills in the corresponding data analysis and scientific writing and publishing. We attach great importance to personal qualities such as ability to collaborate and guide students. Candidates must be able to express themselves very well in spoken as well as written English. B-drivers license is a requirement.

Salary: Individual salary.

Starting date: As soon as possible, as agreed.

Position: The position is a temporary position, 24 months.
