Duties
The overall contribution of this project is to enable secure battery-free Internet of Things networks based on backscatter communication by leveraging cooperation among devices. Focus of the research is to derive general methods and building blocks to reduce device complexity, enable security, and to improve reliability and predictability of backscatter networks. Among the expected achievements are prototype implementations to demonstrate and evaluate the research results. 

Requirements
The candidate must have a Master of Science in computer science or electrical engineering, or equivalent. The ideal candidate for the position has a solid background in wireless communication and information security. 

As for all PhD students, a genuine interest and curiosity in the subject matter and excellent analytical and communication skills, both oral and written, are required.

The position is for at most five years, and includes department duties (mainly teaching) at a level of at most 20%, as well as course participation. The candidate will be expected to teach in English or Swedish.

Additional qualifications
Further experience with hardware/radio-frequency design, low-level programming of distributed systems is helpful.
