The Department of Information Technology holds a leading position in research as well as teaching at all levels. The department has 300 employees, including 120 faculty and 110 PhD students, and 30 research groups. More than 4000 students are enrolled annually. For more information, see www.it.uu.se. The post-doctoral positions are offered by the department’s Division of Computer Systems, which conducts world-leading research on a wide range of topics related to the engineering of future computers and computer systems. The division has around 55 employees, including 10 professors, 6 university lecturers, 12 researchers and post-docs, and 25 PhD students.

Duties/Subject area
The Division of Computer Systems seeks to strengthen its core research activities through the recruitment of up to five promising postdocs. The division’s research includes modeling, design, and analysis of new computer architectures, new methods in computer communication, and new techniques in embedded and real-time systems. In all those areas, the division has produced groundbreaking theoretical and applied results. This call is open to applicants across any of the research fields within the division. Each post-doc will be placed in one of the research groups in the division, but we are particularly interested in applicants who can span multiple groups through collaborative projects. Requirements
PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment. The starting point of the three-year frame period is the application deadline. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.
Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.
Additional qualifications
High-quality publications in international peer-reviewed journals or conferences are expected. The applicant should be highly motivated, able to work well in a diverse group, comfortable giving and receiving constructive criticism, and have strong abilities for critical thinking and structured work.
About the employment
The employment is a temporary position of 2 years according to central collective agreement. Scope of employment 100 %. Starting date as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
