Uppsala University, Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory

The Department of Chemistry - Ångström conducts research and education in the chemistry field. The department has more than 250 employees and has a turnover of 250 million SEK. Duties
The project is financed by the Swedish Research Council (www.vr.se). The project aims to introduce a new approach to photocatalysis and solar fuels production based on singlet fission.

Description of the work duties:

  • Research and management of research project within the area of the title.
  • Supervision of postgraduate student(s).
  • Teaching on basic and advanced levels (up to 20%).

Requirements
Applicants must have:

  • A PhD within the field of Physical Chemistry, or other for the position relevant fields.
  • Documented experience within organic synthesis and photophysical studies of molecular systems for singlet fission.
  • Several years of experience in time-resolved laser spectroscopy with transient absorption methods.
  • Documented experience to obtain competitive research funding.
  • Good oral and written proficiency in English and Swedish.
  • Experience in teaching in chemistry on university level.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Additional qualifications
Post-doctoral experience or similar, preferably performed in an environment other than where you did your doctoral studies.

About the employment
The employment is a permanent position (probationary period may be applied). Scope of employment 100 %. Starting date 2022-03-05 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
