Postdoctoral position in developmental psychology (eye tracking studies)
We welcome applications for a postdoctoral position in developmental cognitive neuroscience in the DIVElab research group (www.divelab.se) headed by professor Terje Falck-Ytter, at the Department of Psychology, Uppsala University. The position may start in the spring/summer of 2022. The position is a temporary full-time position of two years (with possible up to one year extension; i.e. a total of maximum three years), according to collective agreement.

Project/Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading analyses based on existing eye tracking data, for publication in peer reviewed journals, in collaboration with the project team.

Requirements
PhD degree in psychology or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in psychology. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment. The starting point of the three-year frame period is the application deadline. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

For this particular position, the applicants are required to have a PhD in which eye tracking was the main method (or equivalent postdoctoral experience), and a competitive publication record covering topics of relevance for the group’s research focus. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a high degree of independence in terms of analyzing and interpreting eye-tracking data. Strong computational programming skills as well as excellent oral and written English language skills are required.

You must be able to work independently as well as work in a team and to be able to supervise more junior team members. We seek a reliable, ambitious and effective team member motivated to produce the best possible science.

Additional qualifications
The following are advantageous but not required qualifications:

  • Experience working with eye tracking data from infants/children
  • Experience from autism/ADHD research
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods of relevance for our studies (e.g. twin modeling).
