The Centre for Gender Research was established in 2003 as an interdisciplinary unit within Uppsala University. The Centre for Gender Research is organized within the Disciplinary Domain of the Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Arts, but focuses on gender research across disciplines and domains. Research and education at the Centre includes various perspectives on sex and gender, and other dimensions of power. Close to forty researchers are employed at, or affiliated with, the Centre, and their research spans many research fields and over 20 disciplines. Duties
The position is for research and work with a project plan, which is to result in one or several application(s) for external funding for a research project, to be submitted to relevant funding bodies, primarily in 2023. The project is to be placed at The Centre for Gender Research (CfGR), it must have a gender studies perspective; besides the applicant, the planned project can also involve researchers from different disciplines, across domains. The person who accepts the position will be expected to be an active part of the CfGR research seminar series, and to contribute to the development of the CfGR research milieu.The position may also entail some research-administrative tasks, and/or teaching.

Requirements
To be qualified for the position, the applicant must have a PhD degree. We are looking for researchers with varying disciplinary backgrounds, who use gender perspectives, and who have the formal qualifications and the personal qualities needed to perform well in the position. The work requires good ability for independent work as well as demonstrated ability to collaborate and interact both within the academic community and the society at large. The planned research project, its quality and relevance for the activities at the Centre, will be given particular weight in the assessment of applicants.

Recruitment goals
At present, in the category researcher there are more employees with legal gender woman than with legal gender man at the Centre for gender research. The university is striving for a more balanced distribution of legal gender within this category.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, for a period of six months. Scope of employment 100 %. Starting date September 2022 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
