The Department of Chemistry - Ångström conducts research and education in the chemistry field. The department has more than 250 employees and has a turnover of 250 million SEK. Project description: The project SoFiA ("Soap Film based Artificial Photosynthesis") is financed via the EU programme Horizon 2020 FET OPEN. The project aims to investigate photochemical and photocatalytic processes in soap films as artificial membranes

DutiesDetailed description of the work duties, such as:

  • Spectroscopic and photochemical studies of molecularly functionalized soap films and air/water surface films.
  • Collaboration and cooperation within the EU-project SoFiA, following the rules and demands set by the European commission.

RequirementsApplicants must have:

  • A PhD within the field of Physical Chemistry, Photochemistry or other for the position relevant fields.
  • Thorough knowledge of ohotoinduced electron transfer and solar fuels reactions in molecular systems.
  • Several years of experience in time-resolved laser spectroscopy with transient absorption methods.
  • Significant experience of time-resolved and steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy in lipid aggregates and soap films.
  • Good oral and written proficiency in English.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
