Lecturer in Bioinformatics with focus area AI in Drug Discovery - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences has 140 employees as well as a number of guest researchers and fellows. The department has fifteen research groups / research areas with a joint administration and we conduct research and teaching in pharmaceutical cell biology and biotechnology, biochemistry, immunology, protein drug design, biological drugs / biotechnology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical and drug addiction , pharmacognosy, galenic pharmacy, bioinformatics, imaging mass spectrometry, molecular neuropharmacology,  as well as toxicology and drug safety. Tasks:

• Education and course development in the area of AI and drug discovery
• Development of seminars, group exercises, and projects
• Development of distance education, computational exercises, labs, assignments and examinations
• Administration and personal development

Qualifications:

• Experience in Python programming
• Experience of data analysis and AI/Machine Learning

Eligible to be employed as a university lecturer is, according to the Appointment Regulations for Uppsala University, the person who has completed a degree within a relevant field of higher education. Also according to the university's Employment Regulations, the requirement for general eligibility for teachers is to have the personal qualities needed to fulfill the job position well, such as being independent, flexible and having a good ability to work with others. The position requires good administrative skills.

The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be keen on actively interacting with other team members. You are able to take instructions but also work independently to carry out analysis on your own. Excellent skills in oral and written English are required.

Meritorious: Experience of AI in drug development, cheminformatics as well as demonstrated pedagogical skills and has undergone relevant pedagogical education for activities within the university, or acquired equivalent knowledge.

Pay: Individual salaries.

Starting: 2021-10-11.

Typ of employment: Temporary position ending 2022-10-10.

Workning hours: 100 %
