The Kasson Group in the Molecular Biophysics Program, at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology seeks a postdoctoral researcher studying influenza virus entry mechanisms using biophysical experiments.
We are an international and interdisciplinary team of committed researchers who come from different backgrounds to study virus delivery mechanisms using biophysical analysis. You will join an international, interdisciplinary team studying viral entry with backgrounds in physics, chemistry, computer science, and virology.  The group provides an exciting, dynamic environment for science, and good communication skills and positive interactions with teammates are critical for success.

Duties: Responsibilities are full-time research and mentorship of junior researchers in the laboratory, with all research time will be on the research project and mentorship and other development responsibilities can take up to 20% of the time. You will also participate in international travels, to collaborating scientific sites and meetings as needed. This position will involve single-virus experiments on enveloped viral entry, quantitative analysis methods, and comparison with computational simulations performed by our team.

Requirements: PhD and scientific background in virology, physical chemistry, or a similar field, strong publication list compared to years of experience, successful demonstration of scientific knowledge, and ability to work with diverse teammates. Both strong biophysics/quantitative analysis skills and strong virology/biology skills are needed, as our research program combines the two to achieve biological insight.
