The Department of Earth Sciences of Uppsala University focuses on subjects that range from the Earth's core to the atmosphere, on scales from submicroscopic structures in minerals to the formation of mountains and oceans, and from basic research on natural resources to research on how humans can sustainably manage these resources. The research Program of Mineralogy, Petrology and Tectonics (MPT) is looking for a lecturer with assignments in bedrock geology.

Duties: The position involves mainly teaching at the bachelor and master levels, within the fields of petrology, mineralogy, structural geology and ore geology. Teaching forms will comprise lectures, practicals, field courses and supervision. Course administration support to coordination and planning of master and bachelour programs, curate mineral and rocks collections, development of practicals and course literature are also included in the duties. Participation in research projects within the above listed fields will be at the extent of 20 %.

Requirements: For this position, PhD in the Earth Sciences with specialisation within bedrock geology is required. Applicant also must have completed teacher training of relevance to operations at the university, comprising ten weeks, or have acquired the equivalent knowledge. Particular emphasis will be placed on skills to teach in the areas specified above. The applicant must have documented ability to teach in Swedish and/or English. The ability to teach in Swedish will be considered a merit.
