Duties/Project description: Career workshop teaching assistant for the Nature Based Tourism track in Sustainable Destination Development masters program. You will help identify different practical career interests of the students in the masters program and organize the logistics of hosting a handful of career-oriented workshops. Task #1 is to collect ideas and input from the other students in the program to identify the different reasons the students take the track and their career ambitions. This job will start in September 2021 and workshops will take place in the fall of 2021. Task #2 is to organize the logistics of who the guest presenters will be (single guests or a panel of guests), when the workshops will be held, and other practical details of the workshops. Providing light refreshments or things that help facilitate the participation of students and guests is part of this task and will have a budget. There is not a strict number of workshops that should be held, largely since a few workshops that each have 3 or 4 guest presenters are possible as well as having many workshops with single presenters. Of course, making use of people who give guest lectures and seminars in the courses is a good strategy to find relevant presenters. Task #3 is to write a short report on the different career interests and needs of the students and a short pamphlet of information for what the person in this position next year should know about how to set up such workshops.

Requirements: For employment as a teaching assistant, it is a requirement that you are admitted as a student at undergraduate or advanced level. For this position, it is important to be a current or former student in the Sustainable Destination Development masters program.

Additional qualifications: Students who are already active in student activities, such as the Sustainable Destination Development Alumni network, are encouraged to apply. Experience with event planning will be considered a special merit.

Salary: Individual salary.

Starting date: 01-09-2021 or as otherwise agreed.

Type of employment: Temporary position according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 § 12, until 30-11-2021.

Scope of employment: 30 %
