Uppsala University, Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The number of employees is 120, including 30 PhD students. The Department has three research programs: analysis and probability, algebra and geometry, applied mathematics and statistics.

Duties: Conduct research in stochastic control theory within the project “Stochastic Control with Uncertainty”. Teaching and administration can be included, no more than 20 percent.

Requirements: PhD degree in mathematics or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in mathematics. Documented ability to excellent research in stochastic control theory. Relevant subareas include optimal stopping theory and singular control.

Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Salary: Individual salary.

Starting date: 01-09-2021 or as otherwise agreed.

Type of employment: Temporary position, two years.
