The employment in placed in the research group Clinical Psychology in Healthcare at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health. The research group hosts the strategic research programme Uppsala Psychosocial Care Programme U-CARE (http://www.u-care.uu.se). The purpose of U-CARE is to offer internet-based psychosocial support and psychological self-help to all those who need such help because of a physical illness, no matter where in Sweden they live and no matter what kind of psychosocial resources are available to them locally.

Within the Clinical Psychology in Healthcare research group, there is a group connected to Uppsala MedTech Science & Innovation (https://medtech.uu.se/), an interdisciplinary research center focusing on medical engineering and eHealth. The group is led by associate professor Maria Hägglund, and studies the design, implementation and use of eHealth and new technology within healthcare and for self-care.

Projects: The person who is offered this position will mainly be working with two research programmes; ”Beyond implementation of eHealth” and ”Nordic eHealth for Patients (NORDeHEALTH): Benchmarking and Developing for the Future” (https://nordehealth.eu/). The projects aim to explore factors that will affect the implementation and use of eHealth as a tool for collaboration between patients and healthcare professionals, as well as recommend and design concrete interventions or tools to ensure that eHealth solutions are actually used. One of the most discussed eHealth solutions to be implemented in Sweden and internationally is patients access to their electronic health records (in Sweden “Journalen”, in the US open notes). This is the main focus in both projects describe above, which are both international collaborations with partners in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, and the USA.

Duties: The person we are looking for will work with the projects described above, but other projects can also be relevant. Tasks include;

  • coordination of activities necessary for the successful completion of the projects;
  • ensure that goals and sub-goals are reached;
  • recruit study participants;
  • gather research data;
  • prepare and maintain project related documentation;
  • answer questions about the projects from potential study participants;
  • schedule meetings with the research teams;
  • write agendas and meeting notes;
  • communicate with external project partners;
  • summarize research literature; and
  • report project progress

Other administrative tasks can also be relevant.

Requirements: The person who will be offered the position must have a Master’s degree in a for the position relevant area, e.g. health informatics, behavioral science, implementation science. The person must be interested in and able to; work independently (with supervision); express themselves very well in spoken and written English; and be well organized. The person who is offered the position must have a strong interest in and knowledge about eHealth and digitalization of healthcare (in a Swedish and/or international context). Further, we require excellent computer skills and ability to work with different software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Education/training or experience of project management or project administration work is required.

Personal qualities are very important, such as flexibility, ability to prioritize, and quality awareness. As an applicant, you should have easy to collaborate and enjoy working both independently and in project teams.

Additional qualifications:

  • Swedish language proficiency
  • Experience of successful project management or project administration work, preferably in international research projects
  • Experience of successful work with research communication (webb, social media, popular science publications)
  • Experience and knowledge about research methods used within the project (e.g. systematic literature reviews, meta-analysis, participatory action research, public involvement in research, evaluation of eHealth)
  • Experience and knowledge of the Swedish eHealth context in general and of patients access to their electronic health record specifically
  • Experience of writing scientific publications
  • Experience of collecting, organizing, and managing quantitative and qualitative data with different program such as Excel, SPSS, R, and Nvivo
