Two Postdoctoral position in strings, quantum fields and geometry - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

We are advertising an opening for two postdoctoral positions in strings, quantum fields, and geometry at the Department of Mathematics at Uppsala University. The Department of Mathematics at Uppsala University conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The number of employees is 120, including 30 PhD students. The Department has three research programs: analysis and probability, algebra and geometry, applied mathematics and statistics. 

Duties/Project description: The selected researchers will work on topics related to the ERC starting grant 851931 “The Memory of Solitons” under the supervision of Dr. Michele Del Zotto, at the interface of the group of algebra and geometry and the group of theoretical physics of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The duties include collaboration with the various members of the group and the production of research results.

Requirements: To qualify for an employment as a postdoctor you must have a PhD degree or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in Mathematics or Theoretical Physics. The PhD degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application deadline. The three year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc. 

Preference will be given to candidates with a strong drive towards non-perturbative aspects of quantum field theory (dualities, higher symmetries, anomalies, unconventional theories), as well as experience in one or more of the following topics: solitons in quantum fields, string theory, supersymmetry, algebraic geometry, special holonomy, representation theory, higher category theory, algebraic topology.
