Substitute lecturer - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Peace and Conflict Research was established in 1971 to conduct peace research and offer courses in peace and conflict studies. Currently approx. 80 persons are employed at the Department and at present some 300-400 students are enrolled every academic year. Courses offered include undergraduate and post-graduate courses, as well as a Ph. D. programme. For more information, visit www.pcr.uu.se

The department is now looking for a substitute lecturer at 30% employment during the period 1 January - 31 December 2021. 

Duties: Teaching in several of the department's courses at the basic level, with a focus on literature courses in peace, armed conflict and conflict resolution. The position involves conducting teaching, including setting up time planning, reviewing literature, making and adhering to the course budget and compiling course evaluations. The language of instruction is English.

Requirements:

• Doctoral degree in peace and conflict research.
• University pedagogical education or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.
• Good ability to work together and organized.
• Flexibility and taking initiatives. 
• Good learning ability.
• Excellent English (both speech and writing).

Additional qualifications: Previous experience of the tasks included in the service.

Emphasis will be placed on both personal suitability, as well as scientific and pedagogical skills.

Salary: Individual salary.

Starting date: 1 January 2021, or as otherwise agreed.

Type of employment: Temporary position ending 31 December 2021 (12 months).

Scope of employment:  30 %.
