Researcher in medical cell biology - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Medical Cell Biology at Uppsala University has a strong and international research environment with over 100 scientists, including around 25 PhD students, 20 postdocs and 30 researchers and professors.

Duties: The advertised position is to work as a researcher in the group contributing to achieving the goals of the project. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the project in liaison with an already established interdisciplinary team of researchers.

Molecular and cell biology methods such as DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR, Western blot, cell culture (primary islets and immortalised beta-cells), live-imaging of cell cultures, flow cytometry, tissue sample processing, immunohistochemistry, microscopy (TIRF and confocal microscopy) and image analysis (ImageJ, IMARIS). Bioinformatic basic tools, experience with R or Matlab.

Requirements: Doctor’s degree in a topic of relevance for the position and long-time experience in diabetes and immunology. Knowledge and experience in computational massive data analysis. Proven track record of conducting quantitative data analysis and publishing in international peer reviewed journals. More than 2-year post-doc experience, preferably outside of Sweden. Successful experience in grant application. Fluency in written and spoken English.

Additional qualifications: Experience of supervising students in conducting research.
