Project assistant position within multiscale modelling of wood - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Project Description: The project is an in-division collaboration on understanding hygroelastic behavior of wood. Your specific contribution will be to perform Molecular Dynamics simulations as a complement to other methods, with understanding swelling behavior of lignin is in focus.

Work duties:

• Develop model systems of two different lignin dimers connected by three different linkages.
• Perform MD simulations of the dimers with GROMACS software (Lindahl, 2019) at the UPPMAX supercomputer centre.
• Analyse data.
• Other, at the division existent, duties.

Requirements: 

• University studies at Master level in physical chemistry with an accomplished Master's thesis within the area of molecular dynamics simulations of biomolecules.
• Knowledge and experience of MD simulations with GROMACS at supercomputers.
• Knowledge of bash scripting.

We require good oral and written proficiency in English. 

The applicant needs to be determined, structured and able to work efficiently both individually and in groups.
