The Department of Earth Sciences of Uppsala University is one of the most complete such academic departments in Europe, with about 250 employees. Our research focuses on subjects that range from the Earth’s core to the atmosphere, on scales from submicroscopic structures in minerals to the formation of mountains and oceans, from the formation of the Earth until today. We investigate the development of life and the Earth over billions of years, and study the connections between the atmosphere and oceans with regards to climate change and sustainable development.
Since the start in 1992, The Centre for Environment and Development Studies, CEMUS, has carried out student-led education within the broad and interdisciplinary environmental and sustainability area. Please visit www.cemus.uu.se for more information about our educational model and our courses.
