Project assistant Erken Laboratory - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

A position as a project assistant in Limnology is available at the Department of Ecology and Genetics, Erken Laboratory.

We are looking for a project assistant in Limnology to work at the field station of the Department, the Erken Laboratory, see www.ieg.uu.se/erken-laboratory/

Duties: You will work with the analysis of samples in the certified laboratory of the field station, in particular analyses of water and sediment chemistry of freshwater and brackish samples. In addition, the project assistant will assist with outreach activities at the station, in particular related to ‘Water days’ for school children, as well as field samplings and measurements and other work tasks at the station.

Qualifications required: High school degree with focus on natural sciences, alternatively science base year.  You should have previous experiment with laboratory work and educational work and need to be able to work as part of a team as well as independently and accurately. Candidates must be fluent in spoken as well as written English or Swedish.

Qualifications desired: University education (BSc/MSc) in biology, environment, chemistry or natural sciences or completed university courses within the same subject areas. Previous experience with water chemical analyses and outdoor teaching activities as well as field sampling and measurements is a merit. Drivers license.
