Temporary lecturer, Department of Peace and Conflict Research - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Peace and Conflict Research was established in 1971 to conduct peace research and offer courses in peace and conflict studies. Currently approx. 80 persons are employed at the Department and at present some 300-400 students are enrolled every academic year. Courses offered include undergraduate and post-graduate courses, as well as a Ph. D. programme. For more information, visit http://www.pcr.uu.se

The Department is now looking for a temporary lecturer who can work part time (50%), for the period 21 September - 31 December 2020.

Tasks: Teaching refers to courses at our A and C level, and at the MSSc level.

In the A-course, the teaching takes place in the latter part of the Introductory course, and mainly includes the correction of PM assignments. At the C level, the lecturer will be responsible for the moment in the section Analyzing Arguments in Conflict Studies, 7.5 credits. In addition, supervision of essay writing C students is included in the latter part of the semester. At the Master level, the teaching included lectures and seminars on the course "Causes of War" (15 credits, half-speed). The teaching language is English. Teaching, research and administration according to local agreements.

Qualifications
• PhD within peace and conflict
• Pedadgogical education or similar skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good organizational skills
• Initiative, flexible and good learning ability
• Excellent English (both speaking and writing).

Merit
• Previous experience of the tasks included in the service
• Personal suitability, as well as scientific and educational skills will be part of the evaluation.

Salary: Individual pay.

Starting date: 21 September 2020.

Type of employment: temporary employment (ending 31 December 2020).

Scope of employment: 50 %.
