Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences has 150 employees and a number of visiting researchers and fellow students. The department has twelve research groups with a common administration and we are doing research and teaching in pharmaceutical cell biology / biochemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical and drug addiction, pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacometry, clinical pharmacy, bioinformatics, imaging mass spectrometry, molecular neuropharmacology, immunology, biological drugs / biotechnology as well as toxicology and drug safety. Duties: Establish pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) relationships based on preclinical and clinical data for new and available antibiotics. Develop pharmacometric models aimed at characterizing pharmacokinetics from animal data and predicting response and dosing in healthy volunteers and patients. Compilation of study protocols, development of study designs, simulation of outcomes and analysis of categorical data.

Qualification requirements: Eligible to be employed as a researcher is the person who has obtained a doctorate (PhD) in the field of pharmacokinetics, pharmacometrics or related field or holds a foreign degree which is deemed to correspond to the doctorate in the specified field. Applicants should have experience of analyzes of both continuous and categorical data in NONMEM or equivalent software for population analysis and have experience of model-based translation from preclinical to clinic for antibiotics during drug development.

We place great emphasis on personality as well as motivation to streamline drug development for antibiotics against resistant bacteria and interest in research in the field of pharmacometrics. Applicants must be able to express themselves well, both orally and in writing, in English.

Merit: Pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling and simulation of antibiotics and simulation for individualized dose optimization. Interest in, and proficiency in, scientific writing is highly desirable, as is the experience of collaborating with companies and academic institutions in international networks.

Salary: Individual salaries.

Starting date: 2020-10-15 or as agreed.
