Research Assistant in Economics - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Description: The Department of Economics is one of the largest departments within the Faculty of Social Sciences with about 100 employees from a dozen countries. Each year, approximately 1 000 students attend one of our courses at the undergraduate, Master's and postgraduate level. The research focus is in the areas of labour economics, macroeconomics and public economics. Researchers at the department are often hired as experts in public investigations and in the media and interact in many ways with the surrounding society. Duties: We are looking for a research assistant for a temporary position that lasts up to one year. As a research assistant, you work closely with the department's researchers and assist them in their research projects. The work covers everything from data collection and processing to assist the researchers who do advanced econometric analysis in research projects with large register-based data.

Requirements: The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and documented experience from working with and analysing large datasets. Good command of both Swedish and English is a requirement. You have a genuine interest in research as well as a great interest in social issues and economics. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as collaborative ability, initiative, flexibility and ability to independently analyse data.

Additional qualifications: A Master's degree in social science or have commenced the second year of a Master's programme in the field. Experience with programming, such as in Stata or R, is valuable.

Salary: Individual salary.

Starting date: 01-09-2020 or as otherwise agreed.

Type of employment: Temporary position 12 months.
