More information about the department and its activities can be found at www.farmbio.uu.se

Duties/Project description: All three projects involve development and usage of pharmacometric models based on longitudinal clinical pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics data. Also methodological developments are part of the expected tasks. All three projects are done in collaboration with academic groups and/or pharmaceutical industry. One project includes development of models and methods for simultaneous analysis of individual-level and study-level data, and utilisation of such models in decision making. One project aims to characterise the time-course of alterations in platelet, red blood cell and haemoglobin during and after drug treatment and use clinical trial simulation techniques to find the optimal dosing schedule to minimise the degree of thrombocytopenia and anaemia. In the third project clinical pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data from adult and paediatric patients with tuberculosis will be used to develop pharmacometric models. Based on these model and clinical trial simulations, dosing strategies will be proposed.
