Postdoctoral position in mathematics or applied mathematics: partial differential equations and deep learning - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The number of employees is 120, including 30 PhD students. The Department has three research programs: analysis and probability, algebra and geometry, applied mathematics and statistics.

Duties: Conduct research in mathematics and/or applied mathematics. Teaching and administration can be included, no more than 20 percent. 

Requirements: To qualify for an employment as a postdoctor you must have a PhD degree or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in mathematics or applied mathematics. The PhD degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application deadline. The three year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

Documented ability to conduct excellent research in mathematics or applied mathematics.  Special importance will be given to scientific skills and in particular to skills within the area of partial differential equations. A genuine interest in deep learning is an advantage.

Ability to teach in Swedish or English is a requirement as well as proficiency in spoken and written English.
