Researcher in the field of ethical issues related to genomic ethics - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Centre for Research Ethics & Bioethics at Uppsala University is a multi-disciplinary research environment with 25 junior and senior researchers. It is an inter-faculty unit administratively associated to the Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences. We are involved in projects related to clinical ethics, research ethics, neuroethics, medical law, perceptions and communication of genetic risk information and ethical and legal aspects related to biobank- and registry research.

We are now looking for a researcher who can work eight months in an EU project on ethical issues related to genomic ethics.

Qualifications required: We are looking for a person with a doctoral degree in medicine or bioethics with an interest in ethical issues related to genomic ethics. We need a creative person who likes to collaborate and work in a multi-disciplinary environment within the EU-funded project SIENNA, and is fluent in English.

Ranking: For this position, the ranking will be based primarily on the scientific proficiency of the applicants. Since the bioethics issues are related to medicine a medical degree is considered a strong merit. Administrative proficiency is important and will be considered. Ability to cooperate with the surrounding society and to inform the public about research and development is an important merit. In filling this position, the university aims to recruit a person who, in the combined evaluation of competence, skills and documented qualifications, is judged most suitable to carry out and develop the work-at-hand and to contribute to a positive development of the SIENNA project and the Centre.

Scientific proficiency is primarily judged by the quality and quantity of the scientific publications with consideration given to depth and breadth.

Salary: Individual salary.

Starting date: 2020-06-01 or as otherwise agreed.
