Postdoctoral position Uppsala Immigration Lab - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Uppsala Immigration Lab (UIL) is a research initiative supported by the Chancellor of Uppsala University, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Department of Economics. We study central social issues linked to migration and integration. The research has a quantitative emphasis and uses rich data and state-of-the-art methods to create new knowledge. Our projects are run in collaboration with leading scholars in Sweden and abroad.

Duties: Research within UIL’s agenda. Teaching at the Department of Economics may be included in this position (maximum 20 %). Other duties are initiating and running projects, including supervision of research assistants. You will also contribute to the general development of UIL activities, work environment, and research communication. 

Requirements: To qualify for an employment as a postdoctor you must have a PhD degree or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in Economics, or equivalent. The PhD degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application deadline. The three year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

Additional qualifications: Experience from working with extensive register data, project coordination, and supervision. A solid record of quantitative research, preferably related to migration and society. Emphasis will also be placed on personal skills. In this case, we place particular weight on the ability to work as part of a team. The applicant will be responsible for larger projects, and the ability to work independently and to take responsibility will be required.
