Researcher in the development of protein drugs design - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences has 140 employees and a number of visiting researchers and fellow students. The department has twelve research groups with a common administration and we are doing research and teaching in pharmaceutical cell biology / biochemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical and drug addiction, pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacometry, clinical pharmacy, bioinformatics, imaging mass spectrometry, molecular neuropharmacology, immunology, biological drugs / biotechnology as well as toxicology and drug safety. Duties: The goal of our research is to develop transporters that makes protein-based drugs to enter the brain and into nerve cells and enable treatment and diagnosis of targets that are currently difficult to reach for biological drugs.

Qualifications: Eligible to be employed as a researcher is the person who has completed a doctoral degree (PhD) in the field of biochemistry, cellbiology, molecular biology or similar area, or holds a foreign degree which correspond to the doctorate degree in specified fields.

We are looking for a curious, motivated person for this position, who are inspired by difficult research questions and who likes to tackle challenges. We are looking for a person with well documented experience who can work independenty and efficient. For the position we are looking for a person who has good knowledge about what is a good research project and who has a good capability to independently prioritize and organize projects. We put a lot of value in skills such as co-operation and ability to contribute to a nice atmosphere in the group. To be thorough and good at scientific writing is important for the position.

Meritorious: We see it as a merit to be able to work with both primary cell and cell lines. Experience from protein expression in mammalian cell, protein purification, mutational analysis and different biochemical analyses of proteins are valuable. To be able to analyse structures and understand how one in different ways can design proteins to achieve new functions is desired. Knowledge about different brain diseases and especially Alzheimers and Parkinsons disease is a merit, including knowledge about the blood brain barrier and different transport mechanisms across it. FELASA coure and experience from work with mice is a merit, especially administering of biologics and analysis of their function in mice.
