The Department of Informatics and Media has a broad research profile, focusing on current research topics and societal challenges, among other, information systems, interaction design and media and communication. The Department of Informatics and Media offers Bachelor and Master programmes and courses within the Faculty of Social Sciences. The department turnover is approx. 68million SEK. eSSENCE PostDoc-program This position is part of the strategic research area effort eSSENCE´s PostDoc-program towards new e-science methods and tools for artificial intelligence in research.

Duties/Project description:

Rule-Induction of CNP Explanations (RICE) is a research project based on inductive program synthesis that tackles the black-box problem inherent in some machine learning methods. This post-doctoral project will involve designing and implementing a static type system for the established languages and toolset, optimising the search in reverse meta-interpretative synthesis, as well as finding and implementing integration libraries to apply the toolset to new use cases in e-Science. The project is expected to lead to publications in relevant highly-ranked academic venues.

Additional qualifications:

Ph.D. in the area of programming language theory and research experience in relational programming, inductive synthesis and static checking is expected. Additional merits are experience in machine learning and explainable AI. Excellent skills in writing and communicating in English is required.
