Department of Electrical Engineering, Division of Solid State Electronics hereby declares Postdoctoral position in electronic sensor surface functionalization for selective ion detection

Project description: The research at the Division of Solid State Electronics, is focused in two main areas: Electronics for Sustainable Energy and Electronics for Smart Life. Specific research fields include solar cells, flexible electronics, sensors, energy-efficient RF-devices, biomedical microwave technology and thin film technologies. One of the sensor research directions concerns exploration of new silicon based nanoscale electronic sensor for detecting ions and charge molecules including DNA/RNA strands at extremely low concentrations. The research will be conducted in close collaboration with scientists and engineers in physics, surface chemistry and biochemistry.

Duties: We are now looking for a suitable candidate to strengthen our research on the surface functionalization of solid-state devices for specific bio-molecule or ion detection in electrolytes.

Requirements: To qualify for an employment as a postdoctor you must have a PhD degree or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in materials science, chemistry, bio-chemistry or electronic engineering . The PhD degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application deadline. The three year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc. Experience with biosensor design and fabrication. Previous experience in electrochemistry measurements will be advantageous.

Additional qualifications: Good oral and written proficiency in English is required. Constructive and collaborative attitude is a must.
