We are looking for an experienced project coordinator to join our team

The Kamerlin group seeks an experienced project coordinator to join our team. We are an international and interdisciplinary team of dedicated scientists who come from different backgrounds to study biochemical problems such as enzyme evolution, and structure-function-dynamics relationships in biomolecular systems, as well as fundamental problems in physical organic chemistry, using a range of advanced computational tools. Where relevant to solving problems of interest to us, we also engage in methodology development. More details about our team, and our research interests, can be found on the lab website: http://www.kamerlinlab.com.

The role of a project coordinator in the group will be to provide both research and administrative support to the group leader, in terms of project and financial/recruitment management, and therefore both strong research and administrative merits are necessary for this role.

Duties

The duties of the successful applicant will be to:

- assist in the preparation and reporting of grant applications

- assist in research communication and outreach

- assist with planning and execution of scientific meetings and larger conferences

- assist in coordinating research and training activities of group members

- assist as a contact point for group members on administrative matters

- assist in group financial planning in coordination with the group leader and the departmental financial administration

- assist in HR matters in coordination with the group leader and the departmental HR administration.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a STEM subject, ideally in Biochemistry, Biological Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, or a related discipline, in order to be able to integrate with the research activities of the group. Experience in a similar role in research project management and administration is required. He or she should be willing to take personal responsibility for actions and results.

Emphasis will also be placed on personal skills. In this case, we place particular weight on the ability to work as part of a team and a positive attitude towards mobility. The applicant will be responsible for project and administrative management as part of a large research group, and therefore the ability to work independently and to take responsibility will be required.

Additional qualifications: Experience in financial and HR administration is seen as an advantage.

Criteria for ranking: The ranking of applicants will be based on demonstrated project coordination experience, in the form of research project management and administration. High emphasis will also be put on personal qualifications required for the project.

In filling this position, we aim to recruit the person who, in a combined evaluation of competence, skills and documented qualifications, are judged most suitable to carry out and develop the project-in-hand and to contribute to a positive development of the department of chemistry. Interviews will be performed with the top candidates through visits to us or by electronic means.

Application: The application must include a CV, full publication list, copies of diplomas and certificates, contact details of two references, and a personal letter including a short description of how the candidate meets the required qualifications for the post.
