The position will be at the Division of Solid-State electronics, Department of Electrical Engineering.

Duties: The research work will be mainly centered in the design and implementation of Ultra-Sensitive RF circuits such as HMIC (Hybrid Microwave Integrated Circuits) and MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits) for Body Area Network and Sensing applications. RF system level design, simulation, fabrication and testing are some of the main tasks. Active participation in clinical trials and laboratory experiments, as well as, in teaching (maximum of 20 %) and in supervision of students (including doctoral) may be included in the duties.

Requirements: PhD with doctoral degree in microwave engineering, technical physics, electronics or nearby areas, as well as documented experience in research in RF systems and associated components. We require good knowledge of different microwave systems and components, from simulation and design methods to implementation methods, and of different hardware architectures for data processing. For Instrumental and hardware control we require experience with, e.g., LabView and Matlab and on some of the following architectures: VLSI, FPGA, ARM7, Philips 89v51rd2, 8051, 8086, Xilinx CPLD, Beagle Board xM Rev C. We require good oral and written proficiency in English.

Additional qualifications: Experience of CAD tools is appreciated, as well as experience in some of the following: AWR Microwave Office (and related products), CST Studio Suite - Dassault Systèmes, Ansoft HFSS, ADS Agilent, Sonnet Lite, Antenna Magus, AppCad, OrCAD, Real Time Design Tool, Eagle PCB Design, CADENCE Virtuoso, Synopsys, and Smith Tool.

Experience in teaching and supervising students in related areas, writing of proposal applications, peer reviewing, and experience in coordinating academic events are appreciated. Knowledge or experience in statistical experiment design, including clinical and non-clinicals, and on neuromorphic architectures or RF architectures that utilizes Artificial Intelligence and Big data are also appreciated.

Industrial experience and publications in RF system for wearable applications are meritorious.

Personal qualities such as a strong motivation for quality improvement and performance and the ability to lead and run research projects while interacting with other researchers and students are very important.
