Researcher within the area of ELSI of geonomics - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The work is carried out at the Centre for Research Ethics & Bioethics (CRB), an inter-faculty centre, (www.crb.uu.se) at Uppsala University. It is a multi-disciplinary research environment with both senior and junior researchers from ethics, philosophy, law, economy, medicine, nursing, genetics, and other fields.

Duties:

• Conduct independent research in the area of ethical, legal and social issues (ELSI) of genomics within the framework of projects such as ELSI of gene editing as well as for cybergovernance of Health Data.
• Independently develop, write and publish articles and reports
• Present work at (international) conferences and workshops
• Organise workshops

Requirements: The applicant must hold a PhD in social science or sociology with experience in qualitative and quantitative social science methods. Furthermore, at least five years of experience in social science research in the health sector is a requirement. Similarly, experience with analysing ethical issues linked to medicine in extreme contexts, bioethics, physician-patient communication. Fluent English in both speech and writing.

Additional qualifications: It is a merit if the applicant has an interest and skills in governance analysis.
