Researchassistant in Protein drug design - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences has 140 employees and a number of visiting researchers and fellow students. The department has twelve research groups with a common administration and we are doing research and teaching in pharmaceutical cell biology / biochemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical and drug addiction, pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacometry, clinical pharmacy, bioinformatics, imaging mass spectrometry, molecular neuropharmacology, immunology, biological drugs / biotechnology as well as toxicology and drug safety. Duties: The goal of our research is to develop transporters that makes protein-based drugs to enter the brain and into nerve cells and enable treatment and diagnosis of targets that are currently difficult to reach for biological drugs. Once we have developed a transporter, we use it on protein-based drugs for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and cancer. The tasks include expression and purification of protein in mammalian cells as well as biochemical analyzes of the proteins with e.g. ELISA and western blott. You will also analyze the function of the proteins in cell culture and with microscopy. We do in vivo experiments to test if the newly designed drugs are functional. In addition to this, tasks include organizing and structuring our lab as well as responsibility for chemicals and the like.

Qualifications: Basic degree in biomedicine, molecular biology, pharmacy, biotechnology or equivalent. Vast experience  of laboratory work. Familiar with analyzing biological data.

Merit: Experience with protein expression and purification, work with cell culture, ELISA, western blotting is desirable. FELASA certificates and experience from in vivo work are very meritorious. We are looking for a curious, motivated person who is good at communicating, collaborating and working independently and who helps to contribute to the good atmosphere in the group.
