Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences has 140 employees and a number of visiting researchers andfellow students. The department has twelve research groups with a common administration and we aredoing research and teaching in pharmaceutical cell biology / biochemistry, pharmacology,pharmaceutical and drug addiction, pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacometry, clinicalpharmacy, bioinformatics, mass spectrometry imaging, molecular neuropharmacology, immunology,biological drugs / biotechnology as well as toxicology and drug safety. Work duties: Mass Spectrometry imaging (MSI). Main tasks: Analyse biological samples with different types of MSI techniques.The MSI work includes both assignment projects and research projects. Provide feedback and guidance on theory and practice of MSI. Engage in collborative research with faculty and staff researchers, both in and out of Uppsala Univerisity. Post-processing of MSI datafrom different applications is an important part of the work.The work also includes to practically supervise students, research students, and others. Special responsibilities: The work involves responsibility for the operation and maintenance of equipment that is in the laboratory.

Qualifications required: PhD in pharmaceutical, medical or comparable area.Extensive experience with MSI analysis using a variety of ionization methods, particularly MALDI and DESI. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience as a supervisor in MSI laboratory environment with demonstrated scientific output. Experience in maintenance of mass spectrometers. Experience teaching staff or students in the use of MSI instrumentation and analysis. Experience with MSI is essential.

Pay: Individual salary

Starting date: After agreement.

Type of employment: Temporary position in one years, with eventual possible extension.
