Uppsala University, The Linnaean Gardens of Uppsala 

The Linnaeus Garden, Linnaeus’ Hammarby and the Botanical Garden at Uppsala University together form Sweden's oldest botanical garden. Here we grow about 7,000 species of plants from all corners of the world. The main task of the botanical garden is to provide plant material and growing conditions for research and teaching at the university.

For 350 years, the linnaean gardens have combined botany and horticulture into a wonderful and educational mixture.

Duties: Cultivation and care of plant material especially in greenhouses but also outdoors. The employment includes weekend service and possibly participation in exhibitions and events. We are looking for you with broad experience and great interest in cultivation.

The work is done in close collaboration with our other gardeners and botanists and will be located in all the linnaean gardens.

Requirements: Garden education or equivalent competence that the employer considers equivalent. Documented experience of growing in greenhouses. Experienced with gardening and use of garden machines. We value good organizational and collaboration skills. It is required that you are careful, responsible, driven and have good working capacity and service minded. Personal suitability will be of great significance.

Additional qualifications: Appropriate practical experience of gardening or park work in botanical or historical garden. We would like you to have experience of cultivating tropical plants, that you have the knowledge and experience of modern greenhouse climate control and knowledge of biological control. You should hold a european driving license.
