Lecturer in bioinformatics with focus on bioinformatics and machine learning - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences has 140 employees and a number of visiting researchers and fellow students. The department has twelve research groups with a common administration and we are doing research and teaching in pharmaceutical cell biology / biochemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical and drug addiction, pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacometry, clinical pharmacy, bioinformatics, imaging mass spectrometry, molecular neuropharmacology, immunology, biological drugs / biotechnology as well as toxicology and drug safety. Duties
Teaching and course development in pharmaceutical bioinformatics. Development of new course in Big Data in Life Science with contents including scientific workflows, containerized technologies, virtualization, cloud computing, and machine learning. Own competence development and max 10% administration is part of the position.

Qualifications
The applicant must have a degree in bioinformatics or equivalent skills. Eligibility to be employed as a university lecturer is, according to the employment scheme for Uppsala University, the one who has graduated from university education as well as demonstrated pedagogical skills and has undergone relevant pedagogical education, or acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways. Furthermore, according to the university's employment arrangement, the general requirement for teachers to have the personal characteristics required to fulfill the job well, such as being independent and flexible.

Programming in one or more programming languages ​​and experience in AI / machine learning is a requirement. Experience from one or more of the areas of virtual computing environments, containers, workflow systems, and computational clusters is a requirement. Applicants must have a very good cooperative ability, but also be able to work and sustain the course development project independently. Furthermore, the applicant should have exceptionally good organizational ability, and be able to solve expected and unexpected problems. Excellent knowledge of English in speech and writing is a requirement.

Merits
Experience of previous teaching in bioinformatics or AI / machine learning is a merit.
