Uppsala University, International Office

The International Office at Uppsala University is looking for Study Abroad Ambassadors

The International Office is part of the Student Affairs and Academic Registry Division and is responsible for administration and dissemination of international mobility opportunities for students at Uppsala University. We are looking for a number of students who have previous or ongoing experience in international mobility.

Responsibilities: In a team of Study Abroad Ambassadors you will, in cooperation with the International Office, raise awareness of the various types of international mobility available to students at Uppsala University. The team will need to plan and execute events in a professional manner as well as create content for our social media channels. Each member of the team is anticipated to work approximately 120-150 working hours during the academic year 2019-2020. The hours are split between events at various campuses and weekly regular hours at the Segerstedt building or via link from Campus Gotland.

Qualifications: In order to apply to join the team you will need to be a registered student at Uppsala University during the academic year 2019-20 and match one of the following criteria:
1. You have completed an academic exchange of one or two semesters at one of Uppsala University’s partners.
2. You have completed an Erasmus internship.
3. You have taken part in the Minor Field Studies (MFS) program.

You can communicate fluently in Swedish and English.

Additional merits: You have experience in social media which you can demonstrate and you have good verbal presentation skills. Emphasis will be placed on personal skills such as organizational skills, time management and ability to work independently.
Application: Your application should consist of two parts:
1. Curriculum Vitae
2. Personal letter of not more than two pages or a video of 3-5 minutes. The following information needs to be easily retrieved from your letter/video:

- Which of the above stated four criteria you match
- In what country/partner university/organization you did your exchange/internship/MFS or from which partner university you are going to do your exchange at Uppsala University.
- What you believe the benefits are of an international experience in your education.
- Suggestions on possible activities/events that would contribute to informing students about study abroad opportunities. Please check www.uu.se/studyabroad and https://www.facebook.com/utbytesstudierUU/ for an overview of what is currently being done.

Additional guidelines for video: You may speak Swedish or English. Emphasis is placed on your presentation skills and not the production quality of the video. You can use any video equipment you like but you should be visible on screen and heard clearly. Send the video before the application deadline to jonathan.schalk@uadm.uu.se.

Selection: Selection of team members is based on personal letters and the video after the application deadline. We strive to have a team of members that will represent a balance of the four above mentioned criteria, geographical representation and academic background.
