Research assistant - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The number of employees is 120, including 30 PhD students. The Department has three research programs: analysis and probability, algebra and geometry, applied mathematics and statistics.

Research project: The research assistant will work on a project with Hammarby football club. The project involves developing tools for analyzing football matches and then using this analysis to build tools to improve play.

Duties: The main duty is the development of tools for analyzing movement of football players using data. We are working together with Hammarby football club to develop a system for tracking players and evaluating opportunities. The research assistant will develop tools for analyzing matches and work on research papers describing our results. 

Requirements: BSc degree in engineering physics, applied mathematics or related area. A strong background in data analysis. Documented programming skills in Python.

Additional qualifications: Familiarity with using football tracking data is an advantage. Knowledge of football is desireable.
