Research assistant, Department of Peace and Conflict Research - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Peace and Conflict Research was established in 1971 to conduct peace  research and offer Courses in peace and conflict studies. Currently approx. 80 persons are employed at the Department and at present some 300-400 students are enrolled every academic year. Courses offered include undergraduate and post-graduate courses, as well as a Ph. D. programme. For more information, visit http://www.pcr.uu.se.

To the project “Electoral Violence: A threat to Democratic Transition and Consolidation” (project leader Hanne Fjelde), we are now looking for a research assistant for a full-time 12 months employment.

Duties:
Data management, including data compilation, visualization, and analysis of quantitative data (including survey data). The position may also entail some data collection and coding, as well as writing of academic texts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Peace and Conflict Research, Political Science or related subject
• Good knowledge of statistical software program (such as R or STATA)
• Good knowledge of English
• Good collaboration skills and ability to work independently.

Additional qualifications:

• Master degree (or equivalent)
• Advanced Quantitative Methods training
• Methods training in and/or experience working with survey data
• Methods training in and/or experience working with spatially referenced data
• Personal suitability will be of importance.
