Researcher in mathematical biology, self-propelled particle models - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education on undergraduate to postgraduate levels in mathematics, applied mathematics and mathematical statistics. The number of employees is about 100, of which 30 are PhD students.

Duties: The postdoctoral researcher will develop self-propelled particle models of fish schools. The researcher will work together with experimental biologists on developing models of how fish and other species interact in shoals. She/he will then analyse these models using a combination of computer simulations and mathematical methods.

Qualifications: To be eligible for the position as researcher the applicant must hold a PhD degree in mathematics or a closely related subject. The candidate should have a background in mathematical biology and a high level of competence in mathematical modeling and simulation. Experience with self-propelled particle or similar models is useful, but it is not a requirement. A record of interdisciplinary research is also desirable.
