About ReAct:

ReAct (www.reactgroup.org) is an international network dedicated to the challenge of antibiotic resistance. ReAct was founded in 2005 and is currently active on five continents, working to increase knowledge about the problem and to identify both political and technical solutions. ReAct works with a wide range of stakeholders, including international organizations, governments and civil society organizations to limit the negative consequences of antibiotic resistance.

ReAct Europe is a part of Uppsala University and is now looking for an Expert in global health. The position is based in Uppsala, but work includes collaborative projects with international organization and ReAct network nodes in the USA, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Job description:

Working within ReAct’s projects in accordance with the current work plan, which is revised annually after prioritization within the network. Duties may include:

  • Following the international policy debate related to antibiotic resistance and participating in devising strategies for ReAct’s work, in collaboration with the ReAct “Policy team” and regional nodes.
  • Analyzing relevant documents and producing position papers for ReAct, based on ReAct’s vision and values and experiences from our nodes.
  • Working together with our “Science team” to translate the latest scientific evidence into policy recommendations.
  • Represent ReAct at external meetings or conferences and driving ReAct’s positions towards governments, government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), professional societies and media.
  • Support policy and advocacy work in the regional nodes.
  • Collaborate with partners, including governments, NGOs and professional societies to support multi-stakeholder actions on antibiotic resistance.
  • Perform literature reviews and collect relevant data for ReAct projects.
  • Support organization of meetings by e.g. compiling background documents, recommending participants etc.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the ReAct Toolbox (www.reactgroup.org/toolbox) by identifying new resources and adding content that can support different stakeholders to act on antibiotic resistance.
  • Support annual planning of work, development of long-term strategies and writing grant applications for ReAct.

As ReAct has a very flat organization structure with a small core team, some administrative tasks are occasionally included.

We are passionate about the issue and are looking for someone who can fit into our team. Emphasis will be on personal characteristics like initiative, planning skills, co-operation skills and drive. Applicants should embrace ReAct’s core values, see https://www.reactgroup.org/about-us/our-values-and-vision/.

ReAct offers a dynamic working environment with great opportunities for the right candidate to make their mark on an important issue. Note that it is possible to live in Stockholm and commute to Uppsala. We are looking forward to your application!
