Research position focusing on studies of electronic structure and charge dynamics in energy materials - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The research will be conducted within existing collaboration the division have with the synchrotron radiation facilities MAX IV and BESSY II on energy materials research. The focus will be on studies of solar cell materials (e.g. perovskites) within existing VR, STEM and SSF projects.

The research focuses on experimental studies of electronic structure of solid-state materials using time-resolved electron spectroscopy at the HELIOS laboratory as well as at different synchrotron light sources around the world. Studies of surface and bulk structure (both electronic and geometric) of applied systems such as highly-efficient solar cell materials are central.

Qualifications: Doctoral degree in physics. Experimental experience of electron spectroscopy with modern hemisphere and time-of-flight electron spectrometers as well as experience of UHV systems. Experience of using synchrotron light as well as in-situ preparation and characterization of well-defined surfaces (single crystals). The ability to obtain and use beamtimes at synchrotron facilities as well as experience of international research collaboration. Good communication skills in English are also required.
